Henderson, Alice H.
Henderson, Donald Gene
Carl Maria von Weber : a guide to research
New York: Garland, 1990, 385 p.

This is what Donald Gene Henderson had to say:

Describes the renovation of the Staatsoper and reviews the performance of Euryanthe, the opera chosen to reopen the house. Asserts that the new production by Wilfried Werz is not convincing: hopes and dreams of the lovers result in death and delusion at the end instead of the original happy ending. The surrealistic staging seems incompatible with the music. (See item 472).
