Henderson, Alice H.
Henderson, Donald Gene
Carl Maria von Weber : a guide to research
New York: Garland, 1990, 385 p.

This is what Donald Gene Henderson had to say:

Compares eight Weber biographers' presentations of the Stuttgart years and Weber's arrest: Max Maria von Weber, Elsbeth Friedricks, Julius Kapp, Emil Ludwig, Bertha Schemann, Peter Raabe, Hans Scimoor, and John Warrack. Finds the biographies written before 1953 were subjective and contained undocumented information. Sclinoor's GESTALT und SCHOPFUNG in 1953 was the first major reevaluation of Weber's life and reflects new research. Asserts that John Warrack's biography presents an objective and well-balanced assessment.
